Mary-Catherine Pazzano
Vocals
For over a decade, Mary-Catherine has been living a varied and busy artistic life as a concert and freelance vocalist, recording artist, music educator, vocal coach, and music director. With a voice that has spanned opera to jazz, her concert career has taken her across North America and as far as New Zealand. She has sung the premiere of original compositions across Canada, New York City, and Indiana. Also in demand as a private voice coach and vocal teacher, Mary-Catherine maintains a sought-after voice studio, and has taught multiple workshops and ensembles at local universities. She also does jazz education outreach in local high schools with the support of Grand River Jazz Society. When she is not touring or teaching, she is Music and Choir Director at Knox Church in Uptown Waterloo, and Music Director for Age of Majority Singers.
Mary-Catherine has released two vocal jazz albums as leader. “You’re Gonna Hear From Me” was released on the label Glorious Feeling Records and was deemed “an excellent debut” (Jazz historian Scott Yanow) and a “gorgeous opening salvo” (WholeNote Magazine). Her second album, the “vocally flawless” (Take Effect Reviews) “Christmas: Live at The Jazz Room”, was released in November 2022. Both albums have received international radio airplay, including CBC and JazzFM here in Canada.
